MS EXCEL 2013: FORMATTING AND CALCULATIONS

 

1.  How will you add border to cells?

To add borders to the cells, follow the steps given below:

a.  Select the cells to which you want to add borders to

b.  From the font group on the home tab, click on the drop-down arrow of borders. The borders drop-down menu appears.

c.  Select border style you want to use

d.  Select erase border to erase borders from cells

e.  Click on line colour to open the sub-menu for changing colours of the borders.

f.   Click on line style to open the sub-menu for changing the line style of the borders.

g.  Click on more borders to add additional border styles. This will open the format cells dialog box with the border tab open.

 

2.  What is order precedence?

It means the order in which the operators are executed when two or more operators are used in single calculations.

 

3.  Write the steps to change the row height?

To change the row height:

a.  Select any cell of the row

b.  Click on format to open its drop-down menu

c.  Click on row height to open the row height dialog box

d.  Click on auto fit row height to let excel automatically adjust row height

e.  Enter a specific height you want for the row

f.   Click on OK

 

4.  How will you select a group of adjacent cells?

To select a group of adjacent cells, choose the first cell in the group. Now, press and hold down the shift key and with the help of the arrow keys, select the group of adjacent cells you want.

 

5.  What is cell address?

There 17 million cells in single worksheet. We need to assign an address to every cell in order to differentiate from others. A cell address is intersection of the row and column where cell is located. Cell address assists while using formulas.
