CLEAN AND GREEN ENVIRONEMNT

1.  Which all are a part of our environment?

The place where we live, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the food we eat are a part of our environment.

 

2.  Define pollution.

Many harmful things enter our environment and make it dirty or impure it is called pollution.

 

3.  What is air pollution?

Air pollution refers to the excessive addition of harmful things like smoke, dust, etc. in the air that surrounds us. It is caused by dust storms, wildfires, volcanic eruptions, smoke emitted by factories, burning of wastes etc.

 

4.  How is water pollution caused?

Water pollution caused by chemical wastes released into the water-bodies by the factories, throwing of domestic garbage, washing clothes and utensils and bathing animals in the water-bodies.

 

5.  How are trees beneficial for us?

Trees save the environment by purifying the air, giving home to many birds and insects and maintaining the ecological balance of the environment.

 

6.  What is the aim of Van Mahotsav programme?

The Van Mahotsav aims at encouraging plantation of trees so as to prevent global warming and reduce pollution. The programme also spreads awareness as regards the harmful effects of cutting down of trees.

 

7.  Why should we keep ourselves and our surroundings clean?

We should keep ourselves and our surroundings clean so as to:

a. Live a healthy life.

b. Avid any type of pollution

c.  Create a peaceful environment

d.  Maintain the soothing effect of nature.
