  POEM – THE SNARE 1.      What does the person hear? The person hears a sudden cry of pain.   2.      What kind of cry does the rabbit make? Use three words to describe the cry. The cry is sudden, painful and frightened.   3.      What does wrinkling mean? What does it suggest? Scrunching up, making lines appear on the face   4.      Which part of the rabbit is trapped? The paw of the rabbit is trapped.   5.      Which lines tell us that the rabbit is hurt as well as scared? The first line of the poem tell us that the rabbit is hurt as well as scared.   6.      Is the listener upset? Which words or phrases in the poem tell us this? Yes the listener was upset. The repetition of I cannot , the repeated lines, the exclamation marks and Oh, Little One! tell us that the listener is upset.     7.      Which lines in the poem are repeated? What effect does this have?   But I cannot tell from where and And I cannot find the place are repeated lines. T

  LESSON – 8 CONTINENTS AND WATER BODIES QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:- 1.      What are continents? Continents are large landmasses which are surrounded by oceans on all four sides. They represent the primary division of the land there are seven continents on the Earth. They are Asia, Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica Europe and Australia.   2.      Write a short note on Asia:- Asia is largest continent of the world both in terms of area and population. Asia is surrounded by oceans on its three sides. The Arctic Ocean is present in the north, the Pacific Ocean is in the east and the Indian Ocean is in the south, Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, lies in this continent.   3.      Define seas:- The water bodies that are smaller in size than oceans are called seas. Sea is a body of salt water which is, generally, a part of the ocean and is attached to a continent. A sea can be open like the Arabian Sea. It can also be partially surrounded by land.

  LESSON – 9 TYPES AND ELEMENTS OF MAPS   1.      What is a map? A map is a drawing of the Earth or a part of the Earth on a flat surface. It gives us a great deal of information about a place.   2.      List two advantages of a map? a.      They give more specific and detailed information. b.      They are easy to carry.   3.      What is a political map? A political map show the boundaries of the continents, countries, states and districts. It also shows capitals and important towns.   4.      What is a physical map? A physical map shows the physical features like mountains, rivers, valleys, plains, plateaus, lakes and seas.   5.      Why is a scale used on a map? A scale is used to represent the distance on a map. Every map indicates its scale. It is usually written in the corner of a map. The scale shows the ratio between the distances on the map to the actual distance on the ground.
