What is a map?
A map is a drawing of
the Earth or a part of the Earth on a flat surface. It gives us a great deal of
information about a place.

List two advantages of
a map?

They give more specific
and detailed information.

They are easy to carry.

What is a political
map?
A political map show
the boundaries of the continents, countries, states and districts. It also
shows capitals and important towns.

What is a physical map?
A physical map shows
the physical features like mountains, rivers, valleys, plains, plateaus, lakes
and seas.

Why is a scale used on
a map?
A scale is used to
represent the distance on a map. Every map indicates its scale. It is usually
written in the corner of a map. The scale shows the ratio between the distances
on the map to the actual distance on the ground.
