POEM – THE SNARE

The person hears a sudden cry of pain.

The cry is sudden, painful and frightened.

Scrunching up, making lines appear on the face

The paw of the rabbit is trapped.

The first line of the poem tell us that the rabbit is hurt as well as scared.

 

6.     Is the listener upset? Which words or phrases in the poem tell us this?

Yes the listener was upset. The repetition of I cannot, the repeated lines, the exclamation marks and Oh, Little One! tell us that the listener is upset.

 

 

7.     Which lines in the poem are repeated? What effect does this have?

 But I cannot tell from where and And I cannot find the place are repeated lines. They convey that he is searching desperately.
