How
is a DVD different from a CD?
DVD
is similar to CD in shape and size, but it can store a huge amount of
information. The storage capacity varies from 4.1 GB to 17 GB.

Distinguish
between RAM and ROM?
RAM
is the working memory of a computer system. RAM is a temporary memory. When we
turn off the computer, the RAM loses all the data. ROM is known as permanent
memory and cannot ordinarily be changed. It contains instructions and programs
for computer operation. The content of ROM does not get lost when the computer
is turned off.

What
do you understand by computer’s memory?
The
memory of a computer is broadly divided into two parts. They are primary memory
and secondary memory. Primary memory can be divided into three parts. RAM, ROM
and Hard disk. Secondary memory storage devices are CD/DVD and Pen Drive.

Write
a short note on hard disk.
It
is the main storage medium for computers. It can hold large amount of data. It
is made up of hard platters of metal. Data is recorded on both sides of the
disk. Nowadays, hard disk can store up to 2 TB to 5 TB of data.
5.
What
are the secondary storage devices used for?
The
secondary storage devices are hard disk, CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and pen drives.
6.
What
is Winchester Disk Drive?
The
hard disk is known as Winchester disk drive. It is the main storage medium for
computers.
