AGRICULTURE

 

1.     Where is rice grown in India?

Rice is grown during the monsoon season. Odisha, Andra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, assam, West Bengal, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana UP and Kerala are the main producers of rice in India. India is the second largest producer of rice in the world.

 

2.     Name some food crops and cash crops

Food crops are:- rice, Wheat, Pulses and Millets

Cash crops are: Sugarcane, Cotton and Jute, Tea, Oilseeds, Spices and Rubber.

 

3.     What are millets? Where are they grown?

Jawar, bajra and ragi are called millets. They are grown in hot climate where rainfall is less.

 

4.     What is jute used for?

Jute is known as fibre crops. It is used for making gunny bags, carpets, mats, bags etc.

 

5.     What is livestock?

Since ancient times, animals have been domesticated for various purposes. The animals that are reared or domesticated for profit are called livestock.
