1.    Name the four domains of the earth?

Lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere and biosphere are the four domains of the earth.

 

2.    What is found in the lithosphere?

Lithosphere is the outermost solid layer of the earth which is made of rocks and minerals. Lithosphere includes all landmasses. Most of the minerals present in earth are found in lithosphere. Iron, copper and gold are some metallic minerals and coal, oil and natural gas found in lithosphere are mineral fuels.

 

3.    What are the three states of water?

Water exists in three states - solid, liquid and gaseous. The icecaps in the Polar Regions are in the sold form. The water in the oceans, rivers, lakes and seas is in the liquid form. The water vapour in the air is in the gaseous form.

 

4.    What holds the air around the Earth?

The air is held around the Earth due to the gravitational pull of the earth.

 

5.    What is biosphere?

The sphere of living organisms where three realms of earth meet and interact is called biosphere. Human beings, animals and plants all exist in biosphere. All these living beings depend upon each other and their environment for their survival. Human beings are an essential part of the biosphere.
