1.    What was discovered in the sixteenth century?

The movement of earth was first discovered in the sixteenth century.

 

2.    What is rotation?

Rotation is the spinning of the Earth on its axis from west to east once in about 24 hours is considered as one day.

 

3.    How are day and night caused?

Day and night are caused by the rotation of the earth. While the earth rotates, the portion of the earth that faces the sun has day and does not face the sun has night.

 

4.    What is revolution?

Revolution is the annual motion of the Earth around the sun along its fixed orbit from west to east.

 

5.    How are seasons caused? Name the seasons:-

The time taken by the Earth to complete one revolution results in the occurrence of four seasons all over the world. These four seasons are summer, autumn, winter and spring.
