WORKING OF A COMPUTER

 

DEFINE THE FOLLOWING:

1.     Input devices that help us to enter data and instruction into the computer

2.     Output devices that help us to display the result obtained are called output.

3.     Hard copy the output printed on a paper is hard copy.

ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:

1.     What are the three main units of a computer system?

A computer system consist of three main parts:

a.      Input unit

b.     Processing unit

c.      Output unit

 

2.     Explain the IPO cycle.

A computer follows the IPO cycle.

a.     Input - take data and instruction

b.     Process – processes date

c.      Output – shows the results

 

3.     Why the ‘CPU’ is called the brain of the computer?

CPU stands for central processing unit. It gives meaningful information by taking data and instructions. So it is called the brain of the computer.

 

4.     What is processing?

After entering the data and instructions, CPU works on it and processes data to give meaningful information. It is done with the help of processor.
