  LESSON 7 A HOUSE   1.     Which things are used in making pucca houses? Bricks, wood, cement and steel are used in making pucca houses.   2.     What are skyscrapers? Skyscrapers are very tall buildings, which may even have a hundred storeys.   3.     Who live in tents? Why? Mountaineers, military and picnic campers live in tents. It is easy to put up and can easily be folded and carried to any other place.   4.     Where can you find stilt houses? We can find stilt houses at places where it rains a lot and where there is always a danger of flood.

  LESSON – 7 UNCLE PRASAD AND THE FLYING MAHINE – II   QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:-   1.    Who pushed the plane over the rock? Ravi and the other boys pushed the glider off the rock.   2.    Who tried to mend the string? Uncle Prasad tried to mend the string.   3.    What tilted over on its side? The glider titled over on its side because Uncle Prasad leant over and tried to catch the end of the broken string.   4.    What pulled the machine forward? When uncle Prasad looked down he found that the weight of his body had pulled the machine forward.   5.    What happened when uncle Prasad caught hold of the bamboo stick? When Uncle Prasad caught hold of the bamboo stick, the glider started to go round and round in Circles, getting lower and lower.   6.    Did Uncle Prasad get hurt? Uncle Prasad shot high into the air like a bullet from a gun. He landed with a tremendous splash in the lake. Luckily he could swim and he managed to reach the riven bank.

  LESSON 6 UNCLE PRASAD AND THE FLYING MACHINE – I   1.      What was Ravi drawing? Ravi was drawing a flying machine.   2.      What did Uncle Prasad look like? Uncle Prasad was old and heavy and had a long moustache and a shiny bald head.   3.      What materials and tools did Ravi use to build his plane? Ravi used some bamboo, string, a newspaper, a knife, a screwdriver, and blue paint to build his plane.   4.      How long did the plane take to make? The glider took two months to build   5.      What were the loops for? The loops of string were for the feet.   6.      What was the bar for? The bar was moved with the hands. The pilot moved the bar to make the plane go up or down. To go right, the right foot had to be pushed down. To go left, the left foot had to be pushed down.   7.      Why did Uncle Prasad think Ravi’s machine would not fly? Uncle Prasad thought Ravi’s machine would not fly because it was too small and had no engine.

Hans put the needle in the hay. It was foolish because it would be difficult to find.   3.     Where did Hans put the knife? Hans put the knife inside his sleeve. It was a bad idea because the knfe would fall out.   4.     Where did Hans put the puppy? Hans put the puppy into his pocket. The puppy would not have enough room to move or even breathe!   5.     What happened to the meat? The meat was eaten by the puppy.   6.     What happened to the butter? The butter melted in the sun.   7.     What did Hans’ mother call him? Hans’s mother called Hans a foolish boy. .

Sheba was stuck in a tree.   7.     What did Vikram think of the drone?   Vikram thought that the drone was a great machine.
