1. What is a nouns?
A word used to denote the name of a person, place, thing or quality is
called a noun. A noun is also called the naming word.
2. What is called a common noun? Give examples.
The name shared in common by every person, place, animal or thing of the
same class or kind is called a common noun.

3. What is called a proper noun? Give examples.
The name given to a particular person, place or thing is called a proper
noun. Proper nouns always start with capital letters.
Ex. Persons places animals

4. What is a Collective nouns? Give examples
The name that refers to a group or collection regarded as a single unit
is called a collective noun.
Ex. Army A group of soldiers
Crowd A group of people
5. What is an Abstract Nouns? Give examples
An abstract noun is the name of an idea, a quality, a state, an action or
thing that we cannot see, touch or taste.
Ex. Quality – honesty, kindness
Action – laughter,
hatred
6. What is called material nouns? Give examples
A material noun is the name of some matter or substance of which things
are made of.
Ex. Gold, cotton, wood etc.
7. What is called Countable nouns?
Countable nouns are the names of objects, people, etc. that we can count.
Countable nouns also have singular and plural countable nouns.
8. What is called uncountable nouns?
Uncountable nouns are the names of things which we cannot count. They
mainly denote substances and abstract things. Uncountable nouns do not have
plural forms.
