LESSON – 5 ADAPTATION IN PLANTS   ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS. 1.       What are the two broad groups of the plants? Based on their habitats, plants can be broadly divided into two groups- terrestrial plants and aquatic plants.   2.       What are deciduous plants? Gibe two examples. Some trees in the plains have less rainfall. They shed their leaves in winters to conserve water. The trees that shed all their leaves in autumn and bear new leaves in spring are called deciduous trees. For examples, cherry, oak sheesham and teak.   3.       What special feature helps the plants in the hilly areas to survive? It is very cold in the hilly areas. So the plants that grow here are adapted to survive in the cold climate and heavy snowfall. These trees are straight, cone-shaped with sloping branches. This helps the snow that falls on them to slide off easily. The leaves are needle-like and the stem is woody and brown.   4.       Which trees are well adapted to grow
